Kathmandu, Jan 20: The movable property in the name of late king Birendra's family members has been found to be Rs 408 million 876 thousand, according to the Nepal Trust, the government body responsible for searching and taking care of the property belonging to the late king Birendra and his family members. 



It is stated that 295,112 units of shares were found in their names at different banks and financial institutions. The Trust joint secretary Lekh Bahadur Karki shared that the members of the late royal family have 257,642 units of shares in Nabil Bank; 30,720 units in Hotel De'l Annapurna and 6,750 units in Industrial Development Bank. 

Similarly, Pound Sterling 48,466 is kept in Kist Bank account and US dollar 138,626 in Prabhu Bank account in the name of late king Birendra's family. 

The Trust so far has found 23,000 ropanis land in late king Birendra's name. RSS

Kathmandu, Jan 20: The 23rd Asian Regional Conference of International Police Organization (INTERPOL) has concluded issuing the five-point Kathmandu declarations. The regional conference had begun on Wednesday. 



The three-day conference organized by the Nepal Police concluded issuing five-point declaration and preparing INTERPOL strategy 2017-2020. 

Similarly the conference agreed on collecting information to tackle common crime issues such as terrorism, human trafficking, border security and cybercrime. The participants had held discussions on various burning issues like, human trafficking, united crimes, border security issues, trans-border crimes, terrorism, and wild animal poaching among others. 

While delivering the speech at the concluding ceremony Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi said that the conference remained fruitful adding that Nepal was eager to work together for combating trans-border crimes and its challenges among others. 

He stressed on the effective enforcement of laws to fight multi dimensional crime-related challenges saying that co-work among the Asian countries was essential. 

Similarly, Home Secretary Lok Darshan Regmi said that the success of police organization was the success of the country. 

Inspector General of Police Upendra Kanta Aryal said that there was no such effective mechanism for police to exchange the information and discuss on it. 

As many as 136 law enforcement officials and heads of police from various 36 Asian member-states of INTERPOL had attended the conference. 

It may be noted that Nepal had organized such 10th conference 27 years ago. 
The next conference will be organized in Iran after two years. RSS

Tabling the Bill, Finance Minister Mahara argued that the Bill has been introduced to make the production competitive and it would be implemented only in the government bodies in the first phase. 

Before this, Prem Suwal of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party had urged the government to withdraw the Bill saying it was not in line with socialism. The Parliament next meets at 1 pm on January 23. RSS

Kathmandu, Jan 16: The wedding ceremony of Dr Nisha Kusum Bhandari, daughter of President Bidya Devi Bhandari, was solemnized at Sheetal Niwas on Monday.

Bride Nisha Kusum offered garland of Swoyambhar to bridegroom engineer Avishekh Yadav at 10:00 am.

Bridegroom's father engineer Munilal, mother Kiran Yadav, among other relatives had reached at the Sheetal Niwas for the wedding ceremony.

Bride Nisha Kusum offered garland of Swoyambhar to bridegroom engineer Avishekh Yadav at 10:00 am.

Bridegroom's father engineer Munilal, mother Kiran Yadav, among other relatives had reached at the Sheetal Niwas for the wedding ceremony.

Kathmandu, Jan 16: Minister for Energy Janardan Sharma has urged Energy Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Suhail Al Mazroui to invest in the hydropower sector of Nepal.

In a meeting held at the Energy Ministry at UAE Capital, Abu Dhabi, on Monday, Minister Sharma asked his UAE counterpart to flow investment to hydropower production in Nepal, shared Attaché of Nepal's Embassy to UAE, Keshab Raj Pokharel.

Minister Sharma, who reached there to participate in the World Future Energy Summit-2017, urged the UAE government to make investment in hydropower of Nepal as the sector has high growth potential for next hundred years.

On the occasion, UAE Energy Minister Mazroui also expressed their willingness to make investment in the hydropower, agriculture and tourism in Nepal and recommended his Nepali counterpart to focus hydro and solar energy in an integrated manner for the sustainable energy development in Nepal.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and Minister for Energy Sharma are taking part in the Summit on behalf of Nepal.

The Summit would discuss the implementation of the plan to increase the production of bio gas and solar energy to 90 per cent and limiting production of other traditional energy to 10 per cent. RSS
As many as 150 nations' heads of the state and government and ministers are taking part in the weeklong Summit. RSS
